The Star drew Three Kings from the East. No doubt this “Star of the West,” a parish founded in 1894 on what was then the westernmost bit of San Francisco, closest to the sea, will prove a fitting place to draw many to Eucharistic prayer. Our Lady is the Star that draws all men and women to adore her Son. Our parish will also go to ad orientem worship on Ash Wednesday, at least for a three-month trial period. We will all turn to liturgical east to offer gifts to our most high God during the Mass, and during perpetual adoration. May the good God prosper the work of our hands!
